I share this piece because it so clearly and compassionately relays the essence of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and man’s ability to marginalize the miracle of salvation God has offered as a free gift to all people.
Please consider Supporting Armor of Truth Ministry to help fund the full-time ministry of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Defending Christianity against the onslaught of modern objections and persecution. Without your support the ministry does not grow.

On December 23, 1888, Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh cut off his own ear with a razor and delivered the ear to a girl named Rachel at a local brothel. Many have assumed that van Gogh’s ear was some sort of twisted present for a prostitute he loved. However, recent research has shown that Rachel wasn’t a prostitute. She was a farmer’s daughter who had been mauled by a rabid dog. This new information about Rachel affects our understanding of van Gogh’s tragic episode.
In this video, David Wood discusses van Gogh and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For more on the Gospel, watch these videos by David Wood:

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
