What is Truth?

Here rears the head of the ugly beast, that old dragon of relativism that rears it’s head and taunts self-assured societies. If truth is to have any meaning whatsoever we must be able to clearly identify one source from whence all reality, and thus truth, can be traced. However the programming of culture and molding of the public mind has been successful to the point where individuals have come to believe that either there is no such thing as truth (nihilism) or that the only truth that’s real is the one they conjure for themselves (relativism) as a result of answering to ego and its desire to progress and succeed and to hoard. This is not a new phenomenon. The problems of nihilism and moral relativism were played out nearly two-thousand years ago as Pilate questioned the accused Jesus,

“Every one that is of the truth hears my voice. Pilate said unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again…”

John 18:37-38

Pilate asked the most important question of mankind’s existence. But he asked it rhetorically. He did not wait to hear a response. The assumption being that there is no objective truth. This is the state of mankind still to this day. So completely enveloped in our own desires and existential perspectives that we’ve neglected the ability to reference the one truth that would set us all free. Today we’re no different than those fallen societies of antiquity that lusted after the flesh and exalted false idols of mammon and clung to mantras like, if it feels good do it.

“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

Romans 1:24-25

Truth is not arbitrary. Truth is self-evident, plain, simple and provided to all equally yet only attainable those who accept Jesus Christ and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit to overcome self and walk within His truth.

“They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth:
thy word is truth.”

John 17:16-17

The idea that truth is amorphous and cannot be known or that truth is somehow debatable depending upon one’s own perspective is a subtle and successful deception offered to man by the Father of Lies, the Author of Confusion, that old Dragon, the Prince of the World, Satan. Noble a work as it is, uncovering the malfeasance of corrupted officials and out of touch elites serves only to state the obvious; that corruption is inherent when man gives himself power. This is obvious and has always been. Appropriation of information and manipulation of human ego is a game played by the power structure that is designed to send seekers down endless rabbit holes that lead only to endless whirling dervishes of info-tainment and to the repetition of that which has always been; corruption. It does not change and it cannot be forced to do so because there’s is no a discernible system that can be brought down. It is an illusion; far too broad, far too moneyed and too far reaching into a labyrinth of confusion to ever be fully uncovered and could never be re-rerouted into something good. As such, power, by nature, is corruption. These are the rulers of man and their domain is sanctioned by the Prince of this World as a result of the fallen nature of the heart of man; specifically, the descendants of Cain; the builders of “heaven” on earth (as they would have mankind believe).

Now, more than ever, it is crucial to be vigilant but to not allow one’s self to become so engrossed in a search for “Truth” within the artifice of man’s creations that one loses track of the Creator. It is folly to believe that there is a method by which mankind can turn this ship around and save the world or that by unearthing all the layers of corruption somehow will free us all form tyranny. That is an illusion; a game being run on mankind by the Author of Confusion and the Father of Lies. To engage the dragon on his terms and on his turf is give your soul over to his purpose. It is folly. Choose this day who you will serve. There is only hope in the one Truth.
Thy Word is truth.
